Meet Tango
We were having 112-117 degree weather, and this little dog was on his own. We all put food and water out for him, but we still could not catch him. He was known as the Marysville terrorist or the phantom.
After months of our morning walk, he started following us to the house, and some mornings, he would be in the street waiting for us. He was so smart he knew we would be out at the same time every morning. No matter what we did, he would not stop following us. One morning, I decided I wasn’t leaving for work without him. I sat on the driveway for at least 30 minutes, paying no attention to the fact he kept coming up to my dog, sniffing him, and wagging his tail.
He started getting too close, but if I looked at him, he would move just out of reach. When I turned my head, he was right back by my side. I decided I only had one shot to grab him, so I went for it. I grabbed him by his side and didn’t let go. I had never seen so much blood, but I didn’t let go. I think he bit me on every finger, wrist, and arm in a matter of 30 seconds. I adjusted my grip, and he settled right down.
We are retired military, so we named him Tango since we all had already deemed him a tourist. I took him to the shop that morning to get him cleaned up. He was a very sweet dog but in a lot of discomfort.
